The goofy guy to the left, is Matt Bourque, the sole employee at MB Graphics & Murals, which I suppose makes him the Owner, CEO, President, Web Master, Head Graphic Designer and the only Artist of the company! Matt was born in 1980, and raised in the southeastern area of Massachusetts. Growing up, he was always into sports, a little mischief here and there, and art. Art being his leverage to make up for the mischief, he used to draw pictures as apologies to his parents while stuck in his room being punished. The athletics and "apologies" would continue to thrive and eventually became a large focus in high school, and aided the overall decision to attend Springfield College (Springfield, MA) to play football and major in computer graphics. Continuing to be different, Matt was the ONLY football player in his major, but learned a wide variety of computer skills, including web design, animation, and graphic design. Matt graduated after four years, and left the friendly confines of SC in 2002 to pursue a career. Although a confident college grad now, Matt was unsure what the best career for him would be! Matt's first official job after college was as a taxi driver on Martha's Vineyard. There he made a lot of connections and was able to aquire a couple of small freelance design jobs. He then taught 7th and 8th grade students at a school in New Bedford, MA for about four months. Believe it or not, the kids excelled in all subjects, but two in particular; Phys.Ed and Art of course! Finally after painting a mural in Providence, RI, Matt was offered a job doing graphic design for a company in Framingham, MA. Matt's first job experience, working for a Fast Signs store, was a lesson well learned. Adding a few new software programs to his arsenal, Matt moved his way up and eventually became head designer in a matter of a few months. Some of the clients he dealt with included BJ's Wholesale Club, The PGA Tour, and Boston radio station, WAAF. Matt would eventually move on to bigger and better things at J.Masse Sign Co. in Plainville, MA. There, his knowledge of design was greatly improved and he had the opportunity to work with such clients as Fenway Park, The New England Patriots and the DCU center in Worcester, MA. Although Matt was learning tons, he felt a calling to get back into teaching. So once again a career change was in order, and Matt began this endeavor in 2005 which was something he had done before, and is still is today; teaching. Not only did teaching fill a void, but he was able to continue coaching, something that helped fuel his desire to caricature draw. You can see the evolution of his caricature work on the Apponquet Football website, located in the Players Lounge under Dawg Pound Weekly. Matt currently teaches various levels of Art, Computer Graphics and Photography. A true calling for teaching and coaching wasn't the only thing Matt found when he made the career change. He happend to bump into the woman that would become his wife, the very witty, encouraging and stunning Liesl. They met that first year Matt made the career move and wed in June of 2009. Along with all the craziness, Matt has managed to continue his artwork, expanding his horizons by making photography one of his main focuses, along with design and caricature drawing. Fairly new in the realm of "Focus and click", Matt has continued to self educate and learn from local pros the ins and outs of the photography world. Using his eye for photography, Matt has also expanded into creating slideshows and videos for the high school football team he coaches, as well as for family and friends. So now that you have read this lengthy, detailed bio of Matt, maybe you'll consider contacting him for some artwork, or maybe you'll want to rip your hair out, either way you can bet he will give you top quality artwork or eventually end this paragraph..... either way.....
